Brackish water desalination ...

Brackish water desalination involves production of fresh water using saline water sources such as groundwater which have salinity (total dissolved solids) concentration of 1,000 to 15,000 mg/L. Most brackish water plants use low salinity sources - 1,000 to 3,000 mg/L of water. At this salinity brackish water desalination can be completed cost effectively with reverse osmosis and electrodialysis. Reverse osmosis is most popular. The cost of water production by brackish ground water reverse osmosis desalination is typically between 0.3 and 0.5 US$/m3
