Salt adsorbent

Is there any adsorbent to remove salt (~400 ppm) and decrease the water TDS (~1000) ? I am looking for a cheap technology to remove 60-70% of salinity from well water.

@ Please let me know this is TDS or Hardness? If it is calcium/magnesium I can provide solution.If it is sodium or potassium I am helpless.
