The workshop should have been titled as Water Security for energy . The availability of water in water streams like rivers and storages like dams and ponds is continuously decreasing, if it is related to rainfall. There is little awakening in this respect. The main reason is development activities and increasing population necessitating construction of house and other civil amenities. Similarly the water distribution network design and construction needs corrected and modern procedures. This is not a prime consideration for the policy makers.

We will also be holding discussions specifically for water security and yes we agree with you and together we can definitely make a difference. Water and energy are vital for development. While they seem to contribute independently to development, the two are intricately linked. A change in either of these systems could induce a change in the other. We cannot afford to look at only one or the other!
