I agree with Alain. The depth of the aquifer and the soil permeability will largely determine the solution.
Over 10 years ago we recharged ground water for potable water production using natural dune ponds starting from municipal sewage after advanced biological treatment followed by UF + RO with multiple barriers and full HACCP monitoring.
