Dear Rux You have brough forward an important but yet very neglected AFFAIR in the agro-food business. Unfortunately the cause of " sustainability " is being misunderstood and painfully being run like any other business these days. The effects and impacts are long run. Though I have done some work and research on the labour component of the Sust-agri. My research and current understanding is that labour factor in the agro sector effects the following, 1. Labour Migration towards the urban areas. 2. Due to increasing population in the urban areas, the cost of rising land. 3. Eventaully facing IMPORTING farmers from other countries thereby causing a major economic problem. 4. mechanisation provided a little relief but since there was a NEED and the CORPORATE sector found that need very quickly, the cost of mechanisation is increasing every day and making difficult for the new comers. 5. The cost and availablity of fuel and power for the machinery is fragile and extremely variable from region to region which eventually pushes out small players in the agro-industry. ................................ there is alot to contribute to this list but every one of the above is an individual topic of research and implementation. regards mashood
