The US state - Iowa, tests ...

The US state - Iowa, tests the highest across our nation in Nitrogen fertilizer contamination of it's Source Waters.  I am running for a seat on the Dallas County Soil and Water Board to address this deadly issue locally, that needs action now.  I have supported the enforcement of the Clean Water Act's Anti-Degradation laws and Iowa's 16 Drainage Laws as a farmer.   Because the Xenia and Des Moines Waterworks are detecting higher levels of Nitrates and increasing levels of CAFO and Anhydrous Ammonia Nitrogen fertilizer in the Raccoon River and other Sources like our Groundwater.

Last August the Des Moines Waterworks that treats my water had to switch Rivers for its Source Water as the Raccoon River was too high in Nitrogen fertilizers and you can cause Trihalomethanes (decontaminants) when Chlorine is added to water that contains high levels of Anhydrous Ammonia Nitrogen fertilizer or other fertilizer Ammonia.

I am supporting my son Adam Lack's RUSLE3 equation to be used in evaluating land for Iowa DNR application Permits for two of the very water soluble CAFO and Anhydrous Ammonia Nitrogen fertilizers.  Go to IowaColdCases.org and look up my son's Cold Case file titled a Dead Zone Death.  Read about Adam's and my family's fight against this contamination of the Midwest US Source Waters by Big Corp AG and the Big Oil Corps that make and sell and profit from the sale and application of Anhydrous Ammonia Nitrogen fertilizer that does not die off in the cold and dark of our aquifers, as its not biological.  If you know someone or do reside in Dallas County, Iowa please write my name in for one of the three empty seats as a Write In Candidate for Iowa's Dallas County Soil and Water Conservation Board.    Veronica Lack
