Hi Carlos, I would fully support addressing the waste water issues. In the UK, we keep tight control of nitrate however during a period of flooding in 2000, the groundwater level increases and so did the nitrates by approx 7mg/l as N03. This was sufficient to breach the nitrate standard (50mg/l NO3)  for drinking water from one of our sources. Investigations found that previous brownfield site developments were the cause. The sewer pipes had been crushed causing the residual faecal matter to infiltrate the ground, this oxidised to nitrate over time and was mobilised by the high groundwater levels. A clear case of cause and effect. Regards Helen.  www.youlearnwater.com
