when you say biological , the pricipal for wastewater treatment is same for all the technologies avaliable like MBR,ASP,MBBR,Trickling filter,activated sludge etc. The treatment options will depend on the quality (type) of wastewater and its applications.

the better would be to discuss on certain type of wastewater (industrial,domestic, municipal etc) and possible best tecnolgies avaliable to the best possible treatment level.

selecting atype of wastewater will give an indication of contamination level and therby the treatment level required.
