This is a promising tool for irrigation scheduling but real analysis of basin wide and crop specific consumption is best done with an integrated hydrologic model such as the newest version of Modflow called One-Water (MF-OWHM ver2). This allows use of potential ET and actual crop and land use to simulate and analyze detailed and regional use and movement of all the water all the time everywhere. This approach also allows or analyzing future and alternative conditions!! So please always look at ET in multiple ways and not just irrigation scheduling.
