Gisele McAuliffe, President, Bigger Impact
About
Since 2001, I have provided strategic solutions to complex communications challenges in international economic development, the environment and climate change, global health, and water, sanitation and hygiene. For the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, I conducted a quantitative and qualitative research of advocacy and strategic communications approaches that would expand water, sanitation and hygiene services in nine developing countries. The outcome was the delivery of an advocacy framework that helped guide some $265M subsequent foundation grants
My clients also have included Niger Delta Partnership Initiative Foundation, Catholic Relief Services, Peace X Peace, Resources For the Future, to name a few.
I began my career as a journalist at CBS Network TV Evening News, CNN New York, CNN London, United Press International Radio, Radio France Internationale and Deutsche-Welle Radio reporting on stories in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Middle East. I later worked for public relations agencies, including Edelman, and served as a volunteer communications specialist for the International Committee of the Red Cross along the front lines of war zones during the Balkans Conflict.
Over the years I have held the positions of: communications manager, disaster services at the American Red Cross national headquarters; manager of the World Wildlife Fund global climate change campaign; and director of communications at The Wilderness Society.
With more than 25 years of experience serving NGOs, foundations and corporations, I offer a long track record of collaborating with diverse teams in branding, planning, implementing and measuring strategic communications efforts.
