Wetlands: restoration of Phragmites australis area

Restoration of an area previously covered by reed Phragmites australis. First Photos shows the area during works, May 2002. Second photos shows the area after two years, August 2004. Third photos shows the area on October 2016, the reed is eroded, but still present. Probably the erosion is due to the lack of sediment, which during the current management are not allow to enter the lagoon.

 From Google Maps using the satellite the non-geometrical channel are still visible.

Restoration was successfully and restored not an homogenous area covered by reed, but a mosaic of habitat with reed, small channels with a "Fractal Geometry", open shallow water perfect for waterfowl.
