During the 1990's many larger properties were subdivided within the Greater Durban Area, South Arica. While  water reticulation was easily upgraded, sewerage was non-existent. Developers were therefore required to have professional engineer certification for On-site ETA or required evapotranspiration greened area disposal based on geotechnical guidelines for long shallow French drains.
