Juan Tedder

I'm passionate about the environment, in particular the the freshwater aquatic ecosystems. I have spent more than 10 years at GroundTruth Water Wetlands Biodiversity and Environmental Engineering consultants, with a primary focus on biological monitoring.  I specialize in the South African Scoring System version 5 (SASS5) aquatic macro-invertebrate rapid assessment method and have been the Department of Water Affairs appointed SASS5 auditor for KwaZulu-Natal for the past four years.  I'm involved in the application of various other indicators of ecological health, including benthic diatoms, fish, dragonflies and riparian assessments.  In addition, I provide specialist input into various water related issues e.g. water reserve determinations, toxic spill assessments, construction and operational phase aquatic monitoring for developments, introduction to aquatic ecology and SASS5 training.
