Description
HydroFlow is proven to reduce hard scale in Enhanced Oil Recovery water transfer lines in the Permian Basin. a 45 day demonstration resulted in 1/8" of existing hard scale removal, while softening the surface that converts it to soft scale that detaches and is not able to reattach as hard scale. HydroFlow uses a sustained 150 kHz frequency that separates positive and negatively charged ions in flowing water. The particles form clusters that eventually strengthen into crystals of soft scale that continue to attract more particles. The result is prevention of new hard scale formation, while diminishing existing scale down to almost zero buildup.
HydroFlow uses AC current that costs less than $20 per year to operate. Cost savings from chemicals (biocides, scale inhibitors, acid) usually pay for the HydroFlow, while asset management budgets are significantly reduced due to minimized repairs and work stoppages due to manual inspections and filter changes, pump seal replacements and extended pump/ equipment life. Similar experience with heat exchangers and cooling towers.
