Description
13th Annual National Conference with a theme 'Wetland & Climate Change" was organized on World Wetland Day 2nd Feb 2019. It was jointly organized by Paryavaran Dakshata Mandal, Association of Teachers in Biological Science & SIES College of Art Science & Commerce Nerul, Thane in the premises of SIES college Nerul. I was invited as Chief guest & to deliver Dr. Kodarkar Memorial Lecture. I share my thoughts & experience on Use of Wetland for Rejuvenation of Waste Water. I said that Wet land treatment is known to India for last many centuries. Elephant ears (आळु, धोपा, अरबी) Plants are grown in backward where water from bathroom & Kitchen joins to get treated. No off smell & waste water does not flow on ground. It gives leaves & bulbs to make delicious recipes. Further I also presented my research work on use of Wetland for treatment of Kitchen Wash Water, Sewage, Dairy effluent, polluted River water & Ammonia removal. I said wetland can be considered for storm water management, Bio-acumalation & removal of heavy metals & pesticides from waste water & treatment of polluted river water. I vouched to look wetland as the best alternative to rejuvenate waste water for reuse. I have presented the process developed by me & named as Zero Energy Natural Treatment (ZENT). It is base on the concept of wetland treatment. It is low cost does not require equipment. Energy & chemical requirement is zero. The patent for ZENT is pending. The success stories of ZENT treating sewage from 500 l/day to 800 KLD are shown. My research work is available for all to implement & take it further along with my guidance,
