Yapo Allé-Ando

About

Yapo Allé-Ando is a water resources engineer for Teck Resources.  He has over 10 years of experience in water management planning for the mining industry, working on mining projects in the Americas and Africa, from advanced exploration through decommissioning and reclamation.

Yapo began his career as a consultant in water resources and surface water engineering fields at Golder Associates.  His project experience includes hydrological studies, water management plans, water balance development and analysis, and the design of water management infrastructure for the mining industry.  He has planned, implemented and coordinated numerous climate studies, river discharge surveying programs, and hydrological impact analysis.  Over the years, he has developed an expertise with mine water management planning and water balance development. 

At Teck, Yapo is responsible for providing guidance and support for the implementation of the water sustainability strategy at Teck’s mining operations in Canada, Alaska and Chile.  He also supports water management planning efforts across the company.

Yapo holds a Masters of Applied Science, Civil Engineering (Hydrotechnical) from UBC and a Bachelor of Engineering, Physics Engineering, from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
