Hello Soloman, Our product is different from DAF. With disc filtration you can avoid algae bloom, suspended solids such as sand and organic particles which come from the sea intake, etc. Mainly, disc filtration with air assisted backwashing is good for Seawater intakes with high TSS under 50 micron or algae problems, but DAF is focus on oli&grease and colloids particles. Energy consumption and maintenance is higher than for example disc filter. Some desalination is changing DAF + MMF + RO for Discs + MMF + RO. Everything depends on the inlet water quality.
