Brown and Caldwell (BC) has a fantastic career opportunity for a senior level Project Manager with experience managing and executing work involving projects for the water industry. You will have an essential role in our operation delivering projects for our clients as well as supporting BC’s business and client connections. In collaboration with the local leaders, Client Service Managers, Technical Service Leaders, and Marketing Managers, you will maintain and develop client relationships, connect BC solutions to client needs and lead project teams in quality project delivery. - Delivers the BC experience to employees by providing guidance and coaching in a project delivery context to a variety of staff ranging from senior managers to technical leaders and up-coming junior staff ensuring timely/meaningful feedback is given in order to support career development and progression
- Delivers the BC experience to clients by acting as a trusted advisor to our clients
- Demonstrates expert critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution, and adaptability/flexibility skills
- Develops and implements existing best-practice project approaches to achieve required goals and objectives including the preparation of detailed scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Brings a business mindset to delivery of technical projects such as managing to key metrics including but not limited to margin, schedule, budget and works to advance the predictability of revenue generation and variance control for their portfolio.
- Manages multidisciplinary engineering, planning and other related projects to achieve client goals within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Through solid delivery, serve as a key contributor to help sustainably grow BC’s footprint across a variety of services in a range of market sizes
- Supervises, delegates, and oversees the preparation and completion of a range of technical deliverables from reports and studies through complete construction documents
- Drives internal and external stakeholder communications ranging from project team communications up to and including presentations to clients and their leadership.
- Support and lead business development endeavors such as client outreach, proposal writing, and interviews
- Participate in advancing BC’s project management practices to foster continuous improvement with respect to items such as quality, project controls and other key delivery functional areas.
- Adapts and executes in alignment with functional or departmental business plans and supports operations leaders by contributing to the development of functional or department strategies
Desired Skills and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in municipal engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.
- Proven technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required.
- Ability to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
