Our Honolulu office has a full-time opportunity available for a self-motivated Engineer to join us supporting our Environmental Engineering team. The successful candidate will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized senior technical staff.

Detailed Description:
In this role you will support planning and design activities for projects related to: drinking water, stormwater, reuse, and wastewater. This is a unique opportunity to work on project teams for developing innovative and cutting-edge solutions on a variety of projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Guam. The Hawaii/Guam region has unique and water resources challenges, and communities that place a high value on protecting public health, our water resources and the environment.
Typical work areas might include:
- Perform engineering work with the water/wastewater and civil/infrastructure engineering teams
- Duties may also include field activities such as site investigations
- Assist with studies and alternative analysis
- Prepare and review technical analyses and calculations for drinking water, recycled water, and wastewater planning and design.
- Support comprehensive utility planning, including planning for future uncertainty, setting performance targets and levels of service, and developing capital improvement programs to support identified needs.
- Assist with planning and design of drinking water, stormwater, recycled water, and wastewater treatment plants, including development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct water quality sampling, oversight, and data analysis
- Prepare written reports and technical memorandums to document analyses and recommendations.
- Participate in client and internal meetings to support and advance project work.
- Participate in professional work groups and organizations to understand client needs and continue professional growth.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Mechanical/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field required; Master’s degree a plus with a focus in drinking water, reuse, or wastewater
- EIT preferred, PE a plus.
- Experience or knowledge in drinking water, stormwater, recycled water, and wastewater; preference given for experience on planning or design of municipal water or wastewater projects and familiarity with the following software packages:
- Autodesk Products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
- GIS
- MathCAD
- Bluebeam
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills and experience producing technical reports.
- Solid verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability and desire to work on multiple concurrent projects in a team environment.
- Ability to collaborate with remote project teams on projects around the country as needed (majority of work assignments will typically be local).
- Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems
