Golder has a new opportunity for a Principal Hydrogeologist to join our Mine Water group on a full-time basis based in Brisbane.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Deliver technical reviews and advice on hydrogeological issues to internal and external clients.
- Build reputation internally and externally as Consulting Leader in Golder’s Mine Water Group.
- Develop and implement plans that build client relationships and create project contacts.
- Understand and interpret the national and local market, highlighting prospects and stewarding them to opportunities and proposals.
- Develop and manage best practice approaches and technologies for hydrogeological assessment and related decision-making.
- Develop and implement scopes of work (costed proposals) for projects related to:
- characterisation and conceptualisation of hydrogeological systems;
- groundwater supply development;
- groundwater inflow assessments;
- dewatering and depressurisation;
- seepage assessments;
- managed aquifer recharge.
- Lead teams in delivery of groundwater management advice to clients in predominantly the mining industry however advice maybe required across a range of industry sectors including oil and gas, infrastructure and waste management.
- Manage projects including project scoping, budget control, planning, development of schedules and coordination of resources to meet completion deadlines.
- Support the implementation of the Mining, Aus/NZ and AMEA Golder strategies.
- Lead, mentor and coach colleagues with respect to their career growth and technical professional development and actively transfer knowledge.
- Provide leadership and drive a strong culture in the areas of Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment.
- Keep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in the consulting industry and demonstrated business acumen.
- Proficient project management skills including budgeting, scheduling activities and service delivery.
- Experience in groundwater programs, development and assessment.
- Strong client development and relationship skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in planning, designing, costing and management of groundwater projects.
- Excellent time management skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering or related discipline.
- Post-graduate degree in Hydrogeology is highly regarded
- Registered Chartered Professional, or a willingness to work towards chartered status and a member of a related professional body preferable .
