We provide specialist consulting and managed services in Hydrometry, water resources and flood management.  In the field of water resources, we specialise in water resources simulation modelling, water resources management, drought planning and hydrology.

Hydro-Logic has undertaken numerous hydrological and water resources related consultancy assignments in the UK and elsewhere in the world. We have a significant and growing client base with some of the largest UK water companies, environmental regulators, government organisations, power companies, and others. We are also the owners and developers of the industry-leading AquatorTM water resources modelling software suite.

With an expanding range of projects in the UK and beyond, supported by both existing and new framework contracts, we’re seeking to further enhance and expand our specialist team. That’s where you come in…

The opportunity

This fantastic opportunity is a chance to join a dynamic team in Warrington (or at one of our other UK offices) and play a key role in helping our clients plan effectively for the future, and operate efficiently and effectively in the present using your water resources modelling expertise.

You’ll work closely with your fellow water resources colleagues to deliver first-class consultancy services to our clients, and with our software development and support team to keep the AquatorTM water resources software at the cutting edge in supporting client needs.

Responsibilities and requirements

We’re after an experienced and talented individual to join our team, with the following attributes:

• A proven track record of working in water resources (or other areas of) modelling, planning and management, ideally in a consultancy practice environment
• Degree in relevant subject (e.g. Environmental Science, Geography, Engineering, Statistics), and ideally an MSc related to hydrology or water resources management
• Experienced in the use of Aquator (ideally) or similar modelling software, including in bespoke model customisation / programming (e.g. VBA, MATLAB, Python etc.)
• Proven track record in managing technical projects in the water industry to safety, quality, time and cost constraints
• Proven ability to effectively engage with clients, and stakeholders / regulators as part of project delivery
• Good knowledge of the UK WRMP and Drought Plan processes, and industry regulatory environment
• Highly desirable to have a background in wider WRMP methods, such as target headroom, outage, and options appraisal
• Self-starter, confident and an excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Excellent report and/or proposal writing ability
• Ability to work to deadlines and to manage others to achieve the same
• Interest in working in the water & environment sector
• Prepared to travel throughout the UK, and on occasion overseas
