About the opportunity:
With the continual need to deliver more for less within the water sector, comes the drive from the regulator (Ofwat) to look at new opportunities to improve customer value. Emerging competition and markets will help the sector to deliver some of this value. This includes within the new AMP 7 price controls of Bioresources and Water Resources and will include Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) and other Design, Build and Finance (DBFOM) arrangements.
Consistent with our water growth strategy to target major D&B, DPC and DBFOM opportunities as well as to continue to grow our existing frameworks, we are looking for someone to help us grow our commercial and technical capability.
A proportion of this work will be sales and growth focusses, working with our key clients to develop opportunities. A proportion of this will also be focussed on the delivery of client work, predominantly in a technical leadership role.
Activities will include:
- Developing our bioresources DBFOM service offerings
- Positioning for, and developing DPC opportunities
- Developing strategies for accessing markets with our clients
- Wastewater process design and technology
Qualifications:
• Significant water sector experience
• Demonstrable commercial acumen
• Experience of PFI/DBFOM or other arrangement (preferably in the water sector)
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to lead sales pursuits
• Technological / engineering experience in wastewater, water resources and / or bioresources
Desirable:
• Demonstrable presence / influence within the UK water industry
• Proven ability of achieving challenging business growth targets
• Proven ability / involvement in DPC
