Job Title - Plant Manager - Waste Management
Salary - £55,000 - £65,000 per annum depending on experience, plus Veolia benefits *listed below
Location - Southwark IWMF, 43 Devon Street, London, SE15 1AL
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
At Veolia, the Plant Manager is responsible for strategically managing and developing the Southwark site which includes a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), Mechanical Biological Treatment plant (MBT), Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), Transfer Station, Haulage, Maintenance, Yellow plants, Weighbridge and Cleaning operations. The Plant Manager will have overall responsibility for circa 150 employees, so a strong leader is crucial to this role.

What you’ll do
Main duties include :
Full P&L responsibility (budget and delivery) for 5 costs centres: MRF, MBT, Transfer Station, HWRC and Haulage.
Overall responsibility for operational staff and industrial process
Ensure processes and operations are in line with operational plans, with a focus on cost control and risk management.
Design, implement and review safe systems of work with the view to continuously reduce risks to personnel, contractors and visitors.
Maintain a high standard of staff performance through coaching, training and development, whilst having responsibility for performance management of all staff.
Ensure adherence to all Veolia HR policies and procedures, including absence management and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Monitor quality of products (recyclates and solid fuel) and ensure they meet pre-set specifications.
Monitor and review strategies to ensure quality of waste supplied to the site.
Critically analyse performance data against agreed KPI and report to the General Manager.
Identify, develop and implement improvement strategies focusing on availability and operational expenditures.
Review and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
Review and manage business continuity plans.
Responsibility to be part of the emergency coordination team.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding operational matters building and maintaining strong relationships.

Positive thinker with the desire to drive continuous improvement.
Higher education or experience in a production environment.
Experience within the waste industry.
Experience managing large teams.
Desirable :
COTC - Transfer Stations or Treatment
