Water Operations Technician

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Operations Technician to join our team in Aldermaston. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operational performance of potable water network including leakage and process operation on a secure weapons production MOD site.
The successful candidate will need to be able to obtain and maintain security clearance which can take four months for an initial pass then a further six months for further clearance.
What you’ll do,
Day to day responsibilities:
Daily operation and maintenance of the potable water network and water abstraction process.
Planning and implementation of leakage control activities.
Supervise work activities and deputise for Water Operations Team Manager when necessary.
Analysis of network data.
Identify and respond to leaks and bursts.
Respond to customer enquiries regarding pressure and water quality.
Monitor potable water network for flow, pressure, leakage etc.
Operation and monitoring of Aldermaston fire network.
Preparation of reports using a variety of media.
Daily operation of reservoir and water treatment.
Water Quality sampling.
Represent Veolia/Management at client meetings.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements, monitor Health and Safety performance self and sub-contractors.
Ability to work outside in all weather and to respond to and resolve emergency situations.
Qualifications
The experience you will need,
Essential:
Ability to obtain security clearance to enter the site.
Qualification or previous experience in the water network and treatment operation.
Significant previous work experience within the water operations environment.
Thorough working knowledge leakage identification and control.
Attention to detail, computer skills (Word/Excel & Google), report writing skills, the ability to undertake several tasks at the same time and process troubleshooting skills.
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory aspects within the water industry, particularly in relation to water quality.
Valve/network control and isolation operations.
Previous leakage management. and water quality sampling expereince.
Good Health and Safety understanding and knowledge.
