Senior Sediment Remediation Engineer

Wood is seeking a Senior Sediment Remediation Engineer to join our team and can be based anywhere in the Northeast. The Senior Sediment Remediation Engineer will perform and resolve technical and complex engineering tasks across various phases of investigation and remedial design on sediment projects throughout North America and Canada.

Work Locations :
Wood has a flexible working model at which this position can be remotely based/work from home Boston, MA office with the flexibility to work remotely in the Northeast Region but will be required to travel to jobsites occasionally.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as a technical leader for sediment investigation and remedial design opportunities
- Oversee and independently prepare sediment remediation documents for various phases of remedial investigation, feasibility study, remedial design, and remedial action
- Lead and assist in the development of proposals for contaminated sediment projects
- Interface with offices across North America and Canada in support of client and project needs
- Provided technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff
- Develop and/or review engineering approach, scope, schedule, and budget for contaminated sediment projects including excavation, dredging, capping, and monitored natural recovery
- Support development of cost estimates for remediation approaches
- Work with multiple offices/staff to coordinate projects
- Work as a team to oversee, prepare, and review contaminated sediment remedial design and construction components including, but not limited to, design specifications, drawings, bid packages, contractor submittals, and cost estimates
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- PE Certification preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Environmental Consulting or similar relevant experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience with contaminated sediment projects
- Knowledge base and strong understanding of sediment remedial methods and construction
- Experience in sediment remediation engineering and design
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities
- Strong technical writing skills
- Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders and clients and develop effective teamwork relationships
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability/desire to lead tasks
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as required
- Up to 10% travel to client meetings, conferences, or project sites
- Must pass drug test, entrance physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
