Response to question on criteria for well operating pretreatment system,
The best criterion will be the difference of the SDI values of the water going in and out fo the cartridge filters which are located downstream of the pretreatment system. If this difference is less than 0.2 that means that the pretreatent system has performed very well and there are not much particles left in the feed to thecartridge filters and the downstream RO memebranes. In such condiitons SDI of the pretreated water is usually lower than 3 and the turbidity of this water is less than 0.1 mg/L.
