We are cooking oil processing industry. Potable water is used for cooling purposes. During cooling some oil contents mix with this water, we are looking some economical technique/process to remove these oil contents for water reuse.

What is the oil content? The edible oil is lighter and floats on the surface. I wonder how oil enters in the cooling water. From my experience with edible oil plant, the oil in water is 100% free floating oil. Oil removal tank with scrapper can remove 99.9% oil. The water can be then passed through the clay filters. Oil is lighter than water. If the water can flow to an area of smooth flow rather than turbulent, then the oil is on the surface and the water taken from the underside of a barrier, or a sloped beach with a scraper could be used to separate it. However some will become emulsified. The oil will end up harbouring bacteria, which will release back into the water. Another could be the use of a DAF plant to separate the oil. However you will not get rid of 100%, oil and as I said, it will end up causing increased bacterial growth.
Can you please confirm the quantity of wastewater generated and concentration of oil in that water. We have developed a low cost system to separate oil from water. Please let us know the above quantification to suggest you the best available system with us.
