Clay soils are usually high in nutrients, but difficult to work. All the Brassicas do well and other plants with more fibrous roots than long tap root in the beginning. If you can leave the organic matter on the surface, then it helps all crops to develop as the rotting organic matter helps to slowly break up the clay and facilitate deep rooted plants establish there. As others have mentioned, attend to drainage.
