Emerging technologies to treat brine from SWRO plants

Published by

Good afternoon,

Anyone could help me? I am developing a new SWRO project, and the brine production is too large, and due to legal restrictions, we are not permitted to proceed with a direct discharge to the ocean.

Could anyone help me with this issue? I need reliable suppliers for this kind of technology, involving brine concentrators or similiar.

Thank you very much in advanced and kind regards.

Actually the chemical waste water needs i) recycle to extract reuseable matter and ii) the pre-treatment to bring in quality of effluend which should be uniformly dispersed into sea water when discharged in sea water wit no adverse effect upon sea life..

Brine concentration Hi,    ...

Brine concentration

Hi,

check out Memsys - one interesting option for brine concentration. After the membrane distillation you can use a chrystallizer to go to zero liquid discharge. I can do an intro to Memsys for you if you want.

Kind regards

Brine Discharge You do not ...

Brine Discharge

You do not state if your discharge restrictions are due to brine concentration or volume.  If it is the former have you considered reducing the concentration by diluting the brine with cooling water or another source if so you will need to mix the two products thoroughly.  We have found that even small differences in density will prevent the products mixing unless the flow is properly mixed with a static mixer which may be in a pipe or channel.  Please refer to www.statiflo.co.uk
