EviroLyzer for nitrate determination

Published by

Hi

Does anyone have any information what process does EviroLyzer series II uses for it's nitrate determination. I have contacted Applitek in Belgium with little success. I am looking for any maintenance and troubleshooting tips. If anyone has an operation manual, is it possible to share. I am not able to find anything online.

Typical nitrate tests reduce ...

Typical nitrate tests reduce the nitrate to nitrite commonly using zinc. The nitrite is then reacted with a reagent that will produce color that is measured by a colormetric technique.  There are interferences e.g. caused by excess oxidizing (e.g. chlorine residual) or reducing agents  presence. They should tell you all of the details for their method. If not, use another method, there are many on the market.

There are two or more methods: cadmium reduction and hydrazine. Those I was able to but which one does the EviroLyzer uses. According to Applitek literature, this instrument can be adapted to a number of different tests. Even the literature itself could tell me.
