Physical/chemical treatment of plating wastes is a fairly common way to treat. Depending on they metals you want to remove, the pH will need to be monitored. ORP will be needed to feed in precipitant aids such as DTC or Sulfide. A polymer for building floc and a filter for solid removal will be needed as well. Generally speaking, we can get metals down from over a 1000ppm to under 1ppm with this process.
