In electroplating industry the waste contains mainly metals and some undesired anions. Metals can be precipetated in an alkaline environment as all metal hydroxides are insoluble except the alkali group. If you've got cyanides then you need to oxidise them to cyanates which are harmless using NaClO at a pH around 10 and an ORP around 900mv. This is the basic method but it does depend on the concentration of the various pollutants in your waste water. If you've got a detailed analysis it would help a great deal.
