Land Based Water Pollution

Published by

I am working on a project which aims to reduce water pollution from agriculture.

Kindly suggest the best practices at the household level, community level or institution level.

Are there any case studies, youtube links or any material related to this topic (in any language)?

Hello the earth pollution of ...

Hello the earth pollution of a surface hydraulic environment does not exist. It is a natural phenomenon that water runoff on the soil, spills into a surface hydraulic environment.

The same goes for animal droppings, human feces, the decomposition of animals or plants.

This phenomenon has nothing to do with the practice of water use in the habitat for everyday needs.

In biological sanitation It is recommended to respect the biological characteristics of waste water by removing the use of chemical household products.

I am well aware of the ...

I am well aware of the mineral used to purify water from nitrates, bacteria and other contaminants in tube wells, in household and other filters. But this mineral is produced very far from you.
I advise you to select and test minerals with similar properties in India. Simple filters can be manufactured or collected in every family, community or institution. I have been using such filters for more than 20 years.

1. for getting rid of bacteria in tube wells or underground aquefiers  if contaminated is by adding small amounts of sodium hyperchlorite for 6-12 months which is freely available in india

2. for house holds i am manufacturing in india  a UV WATER FILTER THE EXPORT PRICE OF WHICH IS US $ 10 EACH FOB

any body interested can contact me to send a photo of the product & it is better than RO which requires regular change of filter at extra cost

3. it is meant for 90% of the population who cannot afford the expensive RO

The mineral, which I use for many years, is produced in the north-west of Russia. In Russia, it is widely used for water treatment. But its delivery from Russia in India is problematic, especially in winter. India is rich in various minerals. Therefore, I advised you to select suitable minerals in India and test them  you yourself. Maybe with my recomendations. But my recomendations, knowledge and practical experience - only when developing a joint project.

Dear  Praveen Subramani ,

Water should be not only clean, but also biologically active (useful).
I can share the mineral sorbents, homemade simple filters for water purification and saturation with useful mineralic agents as well as recommendations for their testing and application. But these services must be paid in advance.

Kind Regards,

The first mean is to reduce ...

The first mean is to reduce water contamination with good practices, using an adapted storage for fertilizers, fuel and pesticides. The second is to have an special area to collect effluents and to treat them, like a Phytobac®️(Bayer) or biobed. In  order to treat water it could be possible to try an Epuration tower, see details on Linkedin.                                                                                                  Jean-Yves Darmedru

I use MgO (Magnesium Oxide) ...

I use MgO (Magnesium Oxide) prill beads to purify drinking water.

The prill beads come from a deep mine in Nevada. They are processed at 700 degrees which turns them into ceramic beads that do not dissolve in water.

The beads place a positive charge in the water that shatters the magnetic bond that holds together any contaminants or pollutants (chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals: zinc, copper, lead, chromium-VI, pesticides, radiation, pharmaceuticals, mold, Ecoli, bacterias, etc) and gasses them out of the water. It raises the water pH to 8.7, high alkalinity, high oxygen, and thins the water so that can penetrate the cell membranes and flush out your toxins.

As to hydration: 3 glasses of prill water is equal to drinking 1 gallon of reverse osmosis water.

2 packages of MgO prill beads is enough for a 3 gal container with spigot at bottom.

The beads last indefinitely. They Never wear out, Never lose their charge and Never have to be replaced. Total cost per household is a 1-time $40...

A nutrient management plan to ...

A nutrient management plan to control nitrogen return flows from fertilizers will help. One of the other water quality issues is the fate and transport of pesticides in return flows. The UCD Integrated Pest Management Program has a plethora of information for farmers to help ensure that pesticides are used safely and to help insure that any ag return flows do not impact water quality. We work with a technology that is extracted from biotite volcanic deposits. It's a matrix of 102 minerals in bioavailable form.

When added to any water it will:

  1. Clean out over 250 contaminants, including chemicals, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and more.
  2. Structure the water and move it into phase 4 (as in healthy cells)
  3. Add a full spectrum of minerals to the water, and consequently to plants and people who drink it. Minerals is what plants need in order to grow and produce nutrition.
  4. Only small amounts required.

Introduce and operate a ...

Introduce and operate a strict Nutrient Management Plan for all landspreading operations.

Maintain spread free zones along all water courses, and if possible plant a "belt" of native trees (say 10 to 15 m wide)  along all the course of all rivers and streams.

Use a wetland area if the topography allows.
