Some good comments - have a look at on line UV/Vis systems like S:Can. They have a new cut down version - as well and ATP tests pathogens for biofilms - the big issues all came down to the sampling preconditioning and the discharges from the online wet chemistry systems.
Spend the time and money on the sampling systems. Would also look at some of the Hach systems as they have on board 3G/4G comms that allows remote monitoring - they also have a good data management system that links across platforms such as CSV and I think OPC for data managment. The remote access overcomes the $3000 service visits once set up. E&H have Asset Centre and have HART interfaces for instrument diagnostics - another QA/QC bonus.
