Membrane Polymer Technology

What are the desires, hopes, dreams of RO, NF, UF, MF membrane polymer technology that could influence future investments in polymer technology for the membrane filtration segments?

Short list of questions:

1. What companies would be potential partners in the separation membrane manufacturing market looking for improved membrane performance?

2. Type of filtration membrane – MF, UF, NF, RO, MBR, FO, Pervaporation?

3.  Performance deficiencies looking to improve?

4. Current benchmark performance, what improvement is needed to want to change or expand their membrane products offering?

5.  What benchmark samples and/or test methods you would like to see utilized?

6.   What does success look like, in terms of size of the opportunity in ft2 / M2 of membrane/year?

I think the major problem that customers face is the fouling potential and most of membranes are prone to fouling along with mechanical strength of membranes polymeric materials, capability of higher pressure and less fouling potential will enhance to maximize the operating condition such recovery & flux, ...

For the membrane filtration ...

For the membrane filtration segment (MF, UF, MBR), polymeric membrane permeability, membrane integrity, acceptable solids loading, membrane standard operating procedures and O&M costs, and ease of membrane system integration should be the key performance indicators. Also, look at ceramic membranes; they may be the near future.

Polymere is a wide base but strengthen it by adding some fabrics in fibers, h´then I will hold for longer time and be cleanable.

The MBR systems for wastewater has same structure and ideas from the setup could be transfered
