Generally zeolites are most often used for ammonia adsorption in wastewater or process water. Some industries like home treatment and pool filtration employ zeolites as filtration media. It is rare that it is used in municipal water and wastewater. Zeolites are inherently soft materials and do not hold up long term in high attrition atmospheres like filters that use air scour.
