There is an altogether new and genuinely sustainable technology of water treatment, using water filter media of granulated ceramics; a small amount of silver bonded to the granules. BTW, please note that this is described as genuinely sustainable, suggesting remarkably low cost as well as easy maintenance. As such this is intended for those who are poor and of modest income, while all other approaches to those of low income appear to be heavily subsidized. Thus their drinking water projects seem to be few and far between.
