I might be a bit late to this question. But I would suggest an organic Microbe that is completely safe for humans, fauna and flora. All you need is a dosing system and some aeration for the water and some on site soil remediation (can be done by manual labour and the right products).
I would suggest talking to someone from Tala Engineering Projects if this is a problem you still have, or for anyone reading through with the same problem. They are based in South Africa and have a lot of expertise in solving problems like this.

We have plans for short term and long term water management. In regard to Nigeria products must pass DPR testing without microbes. We are culturing natural oil eating microbes from the areas that we are working.

The only solution is to supply you with drinking water elsewhere. As Helen says it is an important continual deep pollution. At first you have to go to the source of pollution and remove it!!!!!
Then allow time to clean up this pollution (a few years)
Contaminated water is for ongtemps and of course micro organisms will never manage to purify this pollution

la seule solution c'est de vous approvisionner en eau potable par ailleurs. comme le dit Helen il s'agit d'une pollution continuelle profonde importante. Dans un premier temps il faut aller à la source de la pollution et la supprimer!!!!!
Ensuite laisser au temps le temps de nettoyer cette pollution ( quelques années)
l'eau contaminée l'est pour l'ongtemps et bien entendu les micros organismes n'arriveront jamais à épurer cette pollution
