Dear Kazi sb, Bob Hennes has a point. You need to have mixer, a critical link,  to mix and agitate the content of the reactor. In my work on anaerobic contact process research at AIT, Bangkok, mixer could not work for some time, and the reactor gave unacceptable results in terms of COD and VSS.
