There are a variety of solutions for piggery waste water. Often it is stored in lagoons awaiting an opportunity to be used for irrigation. While in the lagoons it can produce electricity through the capture of the methane gas produced naturally.
Solids separation can offer additional options. We have used the solids for composting, as a supplement to ruminant diets, and to produce power. The liquid fraction can be cleaned and reused as flush water with simple techniques.
One of our favorite techniques is to use the separated solids as feed for Black Soldier Fly larvae which are then fed to the pigs.
