I understand that you need reliable tracing equipment. Radiodetection.com offers a variety of tools. The material of the pipe determines the best detection technique. Basically, you put a signal on the pipe (eg. at a valve) and then trace the signal with a sensor. The type of signal is usually radio waves, sometimes acoustic. You can also put a sonde in the pipeline.
I have used the radio signals and it works quite well with cables and metal pipes.

Many thanks for your answer ,I don't have much information in this area and I apologize, but I come back with a question:when you say "you put a signal on the pipe " it means digging or put above the buried pipe (we have 200 Kilometers of aqueducts)?
