Firstly, the heavy metal contaminants are likely to be soluble therefore will not filter out with the exception of RO use.

Test the water quality for corrosion/leaching of heavy metals using the Langelier Index calculation (use search engine) may required re-mineralisation with lime/CO2 if corrosive/aggressive water quality based on Langelier calculation..

Reduce the Alum use by dose optimisation using Jar Testing

Use activated carbon filtration to adsorb organics (pesticides/herbicides) checking filter inlet and outlet regularly for spent carbon/filter breakthrough.
