Water softeners

Published by Tallium Account, TallyFox

Hi there,

If water softeners take Calcium and Magnesium out of the water, does this mean that I would need to take Calcium and Magnesium tablets to replace the minerals that I would not get if a water softener is installed in my building?

Water is not a significant source of calcium and magnesium with respect to recommended dietary intake. Therefore, water softening should only have a negligible impact on nutrition. Ideally, these minerals should be obtained from food, e.g. dairy products, nuts, beans and broccoli for calcium, and grains, legumes, and leafy vegetables for magnesium.
