That is possible, but I would check you pH. I have had very good results using Magnesium Hdroxide to stabilize pH. Is is non- toxic and you cannot overfeed or hurt your activated sludge process. It is the equivalent of "mil of magnesia". I used the liqued, slurry form and all you need is a thank ith a good mixer to keep it in solution and a metering pump. The chemical supplior rep will be able to determine your feed rate, so you don't overfeed and waste money. Again, overfeeding will not harm your process. Check out Hill Brother's, They were my supplier here is So California. I highly recommend them!
