Yesterday we made history in Antarctica with the first inland wastewater treatment plant in operation. This project was extremely difficult, at 3233 meters activated sludge behaves very differently and we needed to get the effluent to a quality where it could be recycled on the station. There are no outfalls in the middle of Antarctica. You can find out more @Swirltex
