Good article. I am a drip enthusiast who has been in the field since 1967. The best drip is subsurface (SDI) and the net water saved is the reduction of evapotranspiration from the soil when compared to flood as well as in the air when compared to sprinklers. However SDI is a little more sophisticated and requires the right products designed for SDI, education and hands-on training.
