Can seawater intrusion turn the wastewater influent black. Have a site where it appears the wastewater influent turns jet black during high tide. Is there a chemical setting where the is can happen?

I'd start looking for Chloride or Sulfur reactions with iron piping. Run some specific TSS tests and examine the influent for iron.
