Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) is the only compact wastewater treatment system for domestic waste water treatment. It has the smallest footprint and produces high quality effluent that can be reused for irrigation.

Hi Emmanuel; there are many solutions ranging from soak pits with leach fields, to bio-reactors, to use of nano-particles, to mini-wwtps. Do tell me if you want a one off solution for an individual house or a community? Another important factor would be level of O&M skill required to operate as all systems no matter how sold require regular O&M.

although I have worked in urban and rual water supply from 1981 to date, and then as a Sociologist more in the human side of it (meaning whilel I must be very up to date on the technoloday before I can adivse as to the capacities of ie communities to pay for or repair a certain level of maintenace and repairs)....and particularly with regards to projects I have worked in in urban water supply, I have never come across the term you used " compact systems for waste water treatment coming from homes...could you elucidate please a bit more and then I may have some suggestions.....Lane Hoffman

i have one, that has no odor and no need for sludge removal. all you need is the tank. or you can retrofit a septic tank. its a tiny probiotic bioreactor system. no need to disinfect. no need to ever handle sludge. no need to ever buy microbes or enzyme. very low cost. you build your own tanks or you buy plastic tanks.

Hello Eros; Please send me tech info or basic concept. I would like to compare it with Dr Oppenheimers unit built in the 70's. He made one for residential and a sectional one for any size WWTP. He had called it a bio digester and had connected it with a bio generator to collect the electrons (electricity) produced from the bioremediating process. Thanks!
