The decrease in cost is at the expanse of many important factors. One of the them is that the role of consultant is diminishing fast in IWP set-up. Hence the share attributed to the consultant cost is almost insignificant. The other is the quality of materials. Instead of Super Austenitic Steel (254 SMO-UNS 31254), now Duplex stainless steel is being used for High Pressure Feed and Brine Piping. Another one is the disappearance of high quality but relatively expansive HFF Membranes.

Great to see a listing of tariffs for SWRO operations. However, I would caution others about applying these costs to their projects. Years ago I was presenting to a group in South America who anticipated costs similar to those reported from Israeli, yet the country had no capacity to build or manufacture any of the key components for a SWRO system. At that time high pressure relief values were coming from a single manufacturer in Israeli. We gave an estimate for a relatively small system that converted to about $2.50 per cubic meter. The client wanted $0.56!
