The House of Representatives just passed the final version of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020! This legislation that I helped write is critical to protecting our public health and the environment.
Here are a few important provisions in this year’s bill:
Accelerating construction of the EAA Reservoir to send more water south;
Demanding the Army Corps of Engineers reduce discharges from Lake Okeechobee;
Combating harmful algal blooms with new, cutting-edge technology;
Preventing special interest groups from manipulating Florida’s waterways for profit;
And more!
There is a lot of great progress for our environment to celebrate in this bill, and you can read more by visiting www.mast.house.gov/WRDA.
